Have you ever had the frustrating experience of trying to print a web page only to get multiple blank pages, or pages with ads, or have the print your interested in get cut off by the edge of the page? I have and it really stinks! I found this easy little app to help with that.
In their words:
“PrintFriendly cleans and formats web pages for perfect print experience. PrintFriendly removes Ads, Navigation and web page junk, so you save paper and ink when you print. It’s free and easy to use. Perfect to use at home, the office, or whenever you need to print a web page.”
There are several ways to use the service. First, you can go to the website and enter the URL of the webpage you want to print. You’ll then be given a print preview of the page which allows you to delete portions you don’t want while automatically removing all of the things that bloat our print jobs. Alternatively, you can add a browser tool which you can click while on the page you would like to print. It also gives you a preview that can be manipulated. Finally, if you are a web developer, there is code provided to offer the service directly from your site.
Another nice function of this service is that you can print to PDF as well as a physical copy. This is particularly nice because it means you can capture a PDF of a site and not have to worry about having a file full of of craziness to save and then hope the next time you want to view it you have an internet connection. In my opinion, these simple applications that solve the most annoying problems are some of the best available to us!
