MentionMapp is not a new tool, but it can be a lot of fun to play with. It performs a standard network analysis on the recent tweets of either yourself or another Twitter account that you search. What it gives you is a fairly high level view, without much in the way of details, but often that is what you want. It is easy to get lost in the details of Twitter activity, and miss the large patterns and relationships.
From that display, it is interactive, showing clusters of
conversations, who is in those clusters, and what hashtags they’ve tended to be using. You can click on any of those hashtags to learn more about the community using that tag. NOTE: It only displays activity for the tag within the original search. MentionMapp does not search or map hashtags (but it would be awesome if it did).
More information can be found at their blog.
